All-Star
Cheerleading differs from school cheering. These squads
choose not to cheer for a team, but rather to cheer only for
 competitions.
Most of these all-star teams are started by gymnastics
instructors or at gyms, and they usually specialize in tumbling.
These teams travel all over and average about 10 competitions
per year. Each gym has many different squads ranging from
age 4 to 21. Some of these squads are all-girl while
others are co-ed.
UCA Nationals,
like college, is the biggest national competition
for
All-Star teams. This competition is also held in Orlando
at the Disney Wide World of Sports.
